Episode 229 – Wolf

EP 229, regular and varied. We’ve got 2 symphonic extreme Metal bands from Russia, the Black/Thrash outfit Abigail from Japan also made it onto the playlist. There’s of course the experimental Metal of the Norwegian formation Musth, for which our beloved Marcus wrote a review. Rhapsody Of Fire parted ways with half its line-up several months ago, but Luca Turilli is working on a comeback of (his) Rhapsody. In the meantime, since the album is due June 2012, let’s look back at how his solo career took off with a song from his solo debut release. Other than that, there’s Shining, the French formation Akphaezya, the Swedish Wolf, the Belgian Progressive project Epysode (with members from a.o. Beyond Twilight, Communic, Ayreon and more), and last but not least the Aussies from Ouroboros, formerly known as Dred. So tune in, relax, enjoy and expand your collections.

You can’t even seem to pay attention to what you write and can’t define or give an answer to the main question that I have asked you…far less pay attention to how quick you are being “judgmental” concerning persons who have only posted a couple of times and refer to them as trolls. Other people’s opinions seem to offend your grand standing of wanting to be an Alpha Male on here.

  3. It's definitely a personal choice and once you go public you might change what you say. My MIL reads my blog so I certainly don't complain about her. I do link to my blog on my FB. However, I go private in another way. Since much of my blog is about life with my daughter and her autism, I don't use her real name or our last names (which are different anyway). I recently started a new FB fan page for the blog (have you "liked" it yet?) too.

I really liked Artania and Ouroboros; Australia has such a great scene…
    Hail to you!

Very good episode. I had not listened to many of these bands before.

After seeing the shocking title, I went and read some of Abigail’s lyrics out of morbid curiosity. I think I got brain damage as a result. 😛

What I meant concerning Abigail, that it makes me feel happy, is the music itself, not the lyrics. I don’t mind them 😉

By the way, for all you guys out there that loved Yasuyuki’s vocals, I have three live albums, including the awesome “Alive… In Thailand”. Maybe I should play a live song :D. Seriously though, Abigail won’t be featured for some time 😀

        • Archero says:

Honestly, the thought that kept running through my mind was that they clearly had only a passing familiarity with English. There are lots of great bands that sing in their native language, and Abigail would probably make more sense if they sang in Japanese.

Then again, it’s not like I understood the words just from listening anyway! And I did find the music enjoyable.

  7. Marcus says:

Loved this EP, song songs were very nostalgic, like Luca’s. Loved the hosting, everything… And Abigail rules, eheh 😀

    • Did you save the picture of Marc dancing on the carpet for the next post? I get the not-shy introvert thing. I’m the same.Lovely pics of your new place, btw!! Looks so peaceful and beautiful!
