MetalCast Episode 197

Latin Metal or Metal with exotic influences. That was the basis for this episode. While there are many bands that incorporate such elements into their compositions, it’s not always easy to find those bands, let alone find them appropriate for this episode. One example our quest originated from was Diablo Swing Orchestra. And so the crew searched wherever they could and found bands and songs that would make this a very interesting Special. Once again we explore the boundaries of Metal, or better, the exotic terrains of Metal. As spring is drawing near, the weather improves and this episode should already put you in the right mood.Tune in, leave your feedback at the usual places and keep on rocking!

Uaral – Niche was one of the best funeral doom songs I ever heard! I never heard of this band before. Thank you for playing it! 🙂

    Best regards from switzerland

  2. Cheng says:

What should I say about this EP? How about just like a perfect neclace consisting of pearls with exotic shades? Every pearl is shinning unique radiance and you just want to hold it in your palms and it flows away anyway just like mercury… I’d say this EP will definitly reside in my limited Ipad harddrive space for the longest period so far.

    • Si Smith says:

Wow! Thats a great testimony to this Latin episode!! Thanks Cheng! This is one of those that literally took months to complete all the finding of songs and perfecting of the tracklist since Kobe first suggested it, so it is great when we receive such comments as this! Keep listening, I’m sure we will have more gems for you in the future 🙂 Thanks for your support…

  3. gatza says:

    excellent episode!

  4. Vale says:

i was surprised you didn’t put any sepultura or soulfly on it.
btw Kobe i have such a quechua tent as well, it rocks.

    • Kobe says:

I could say things like “Oh, but we didn’t want to go for the bigger and widely known bands”, but for this I’ll say that I just didn’t think about them. :p
Oh, and I don’t have such a tent myself. I’ve just seen many many people struggling with it when trying to get it back in the sack. lol 😀

  5. Mighty Jhon says:

I’m really digging this episode, it has some great tunes. But I thought you’d add any song by parabellum, the south american black/death metal band that influenced all the norwegian black metal wave. But well, very cool episode nevertheless

    • Kobe says:

Never heard of this band before. Maybe Marcus or Si? Will check it out later! Thx!

      • Mighty Jhon says:

Well, that’s a very unknown band, but they influenced Mayhem and eventually a whole new wave of black metal bands. 😉

    • Marcus says:

Parabellum is a very good band, Jhon, well, I can say what I heard from then which is an EP only. I think that they fit better a pioneer episode than this one 🙂

  6. Si Smith says:

Finally finished!! Thanks both of you for hosting. And all credit to KOBE for coming up with this idea in the first place, and for persevering when we pinched his topic……I particularly enjoyed the last segment of hosting, I love it – a fun time was had by all!! And I’m glad you both liked my Puya track 🙂

  7. Oli says:

Metal never made me feel like dancing… until now! Ole!
