Coming closer to the magical no. 200! But before we present you that one, here’s another Extreme Special, so to speak. This one was requested by a Mr. Thomas Kelley, one of our listeners, asking to compile a list of bands with which he/we/you (?) grew up with. Since Power Metal, for example, wasn’t that big, the list mainly consists of Thrash, Death and Black Metal bands like Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Ancient, Hypocrisy, Cradle Of Filth, Satyricon, Marduk, Sepultura, Grave, and Slayer. While most of us have the required material, we let our Extreme Metal specialist Marcus have the joy of picking the songs. Well, he actually didn’t leave us much time. In any case, for you veterans out there, it’s a trip back in time. For you youngsters, listen and learn. But foremost, enjoy! Cheers!

1980 – Angel Witch – Angel Witch
1981 – Iron Maiden – Murders in the Rue Morgue

1984 – Savatage – The dungeons are calling

1989 – Carcass – A swarming mass of infected virulency
Actually when I did a CD of it I also added Rage – Pilgrims Path and Deathrow – Dragon’s Blood.
There. Thats me. 😀 What’s yours?
When I grew up, I had quit few stuff available including every kind of pop music.
1988 — Metallica — …And justice for all
1991 — Tang Dynasy — A dream back to Tang dynasy
1992 — Extreme — III side of everystory
Wow, I remember Extreme well, especially that album. Some of the guitar work was really great!! I enjoyed Politicalamity and Warheads best….
and one of the first acoustic-style songs I learned to play on the guitar (after “Nothing else matters”) was “Tragic comic”
Yeah, the guitar playing of nuno is really of genius.
For example, the tuning of guitar of “more than words” is really rare.
And hard to cover only by listening to.
My friend used to like the introduction part on Warheads where the little boy is being told to keep his body in the position of attention by his dad (“Yes,daddy!”) and he put that bit on repeat and would play it OVER AND OVER AGAIN until we all went mad!
Greetings!
I haven’t popped in here in ages so I thought I’d give Si a strong compliment on a great show! Loved the tracks, loved the babble between songs. Great show!
Thanks so much! Thats a real compliment, I appreciate it! The more I do the hostings the more I am learning to relax and be me regardless of how it sounds. At first I used to edit all the mad stuff out so it sounded vaguely informative. Glad you enjoyed the tracks, we have Marcus to thank for that!!
Hey hey! I like the “DEA—TH” pronounciation from Si hosting. It’s pretty deathing good. Yeah! Keep doing this, man!
