Episode 116 – Folk / Pagan
Time for another genre Special. Although requested via Facebook by one of our loyal listeners who goes by the name of Andrew, we have been playing with the idea of a Folk/Pagan Special not too long before his request. Folk/Pagan Metal has been hot for quite some time, not in the least because of Paganfest, Heidenfest and bands like Korpiklaani, Amon Amarth, Týr, Eluveitie, Ensiferum and many more. But next to those obvious choices, we would like to show there is much more out there, equally deserving the attention, though not always having the same means for it. We’re staying in Europe, though cross the border with Russia a few times, which was also requested us to do so. Enjoy!

Ey, you people, stop damaging you ears with all this noisy metal; instead, say you prayers and listen to one song that will set you free: “All you need is love”, amen.
That’s the kind of stuff I want to listen to when I’m out enjoying a few beverages with my pals. It’s a nice alternative to some of the celtic folk-rock stuff I like. I’d seen Tyr live and am a big fan of Turisas and Falconer but I hadn’t heard of the rest so this is some good new tunes to rock out to.

And Pol, once again a very solid presentation. You’re hot, indeed.
