Episode 48 - Opera Rock Special

There are bands, there are solo artists and there are collaborations. When one musician has an idea that cannot be executed by his or any other band, when he sees it big because there’s an entire story connected to it, featuring different characters and situations… then we’re dealing with an ‘opera’ here, or a ‘musical’ if you want. For this, several artists in different fields are needed (vocalists and instrumentalists), each adding their own touch. The 21st century has seen three big operas pop up, but we found a few more. Let the different stories, lyrics, compositions draw you inside and show you a wondrous world not often explored in Metal.

The Mysterious Mr. X
another great production gang.
Good to see Ken Hensley get some recognition, Dawn rider rocked and wasp is still a killer band. great mix of bands and good to hear the new stuff. keep up the killer work. \m/
Avantasia was a nice surprise for me! I’m a big fan of TSO so it was great to hear them. For those who might not know, TSO started as a side project of the mighty SAVATAGE. Savatage themselves have got some excellent concept/rock opera albums such as Streets, Dead Winter Dead and The Wake Of Magellan. Check them out!
Other bands that you could play in a future edition
1. Nikolo Kotzev’s Nostradamus
2. Elegy - Manifestation Of Fear
3. Vanden Plas - Christ O
4. Shadow Gallery - Tyranny
5. Shadow Gallery - ROOM V
for TSO
Avantasia
